the first week has ended and it seems that most of us are still in holiday mood(lyk mi =X)
it is a bit hard to wake up so early in the morning and listen to lectures till 2pm. take time to adapt to changes. a small advice is to eat and sleep well during the 3 days break. there are more to come....
the sitting arrangement has been settled peacefully and let's forget it and carry on with our work. thx for your compliment, hongjie. i didnt do much though.

The storm has passed. Or so I hope.
The last few days were a nightmare. George, Ronald, Lihuan, Shu Yee, Jin Wen and many others have played a great role in the new sitting arrangement. I must admit that my ideas weren’t very good.
Pertaining to the OHP problem, I have a final solution. We can move the rows such that the OHP can be placed on Boon Ping’s and my table, and project a suitable image. There’ll also be just enough space between the 2nd and 3rd rows, so the teacher may operate the projector, if he/she wants to. I believe this will actively discourage the use of projectors, which I believe is good news (don’t you think that projector images are the most difficult to see?).
As for the unsatisfied people, ah, I have some ideas. For those who are too short, I suggest stacking two chairs together (don’t over do this!). For those who can’t see the board, hmm. I am subscribing to Time magazine, and I have a telescope as a free gift. So, yeah, I think I can loan it. Anyway, I have something to say, just as a few have said earlier.
But what if there is no answer? What if it were you who had to make the choices, be the bad guy, let the blood fly? Will you live with the consequences? What if no one's right?

from what i know, there are still about 5-6 personal who are still not satisfied with the arrangements...
i can tell. the rest are pretty fine with the seats as they make some changes themselves. it's good. some maybe cursing the committee for not getting a good seat while some maybe praising as they got a good one. we must understand that planning a small sitting arrangement is not that easy as you think. I can say that it is much more difficult than doing your add math homework. With 5-6 person still not satisfied, we can call this a small success. if you think that this is not good enough, perhaps you can stand out and do a small draft for the whole class to see and consider if it is a good arrangement.
i totally agree with what weijie said. it is kind of weird putting 4 tables in the middle together. he was wondering where the OHP will be put should a teacher needs it. maybe we should consider what he says and make amendment to it.
with the new arrangement, i suggest we put on our best behaviour during lesson and not to talk and shout as if the teacher is not around. the purpose of changing is to make sure everyone is sitting comfortably, get yourself into the lesson and do well in every class test. Sorry for the few person sitting in front. it is not that you are weak in your studies. but some are not attentive in class and does not hand in homework even they were sitting in front and were told to do so. Some attention is needed to make sure they get back on track and not lost their way until sec4.
as aik song mentioned, the sitting arrangement are meant to enhance a better learning environment, we must get that right.
lastly, we apologised for the few who didnt get their wanted seat. Dont worry. there will be a change next year. If there are sugesstions and comments about the arrangement, you may feel free to message me on msn or handphone.

Well, since the first day of semester 2, the class committee had been busy, trying to sort out a new sitting arrangement for the whole class. Although they had been trying their best to make everyone in the class happy, but i think that some of us are not satisfied with the present sitting arrangement. Some give reasons that they can't see clearly with them sitting so far from the whiteboard while others are not happy because they are not sitting with their closer friends. I personally do not like the new sitting arrangement with 4 people sitting in the middle of the classroom. I think that it makes the class too messy with a whole cluster of tables in the middle. The class may even become noisy because of this. I'm not saying that the class committee has not done a good job but i sincerely hope that they can improve on it for the rest of the year. Maybe we can change a new sitting arrangement next term if we are free.

You have to consider everything, you say? People are unhappy, you assert? What about the current arrangement? The escalating tension between Li Ting and Clarence in particular. They have endured half a year. Should it not be another pair’s turn to suffer? Maybe, we can do it without any major problems at all! My believe is that people exaggerate their problems. (That guy is blocking me! I don’t like X,Y,Z, A, B, C. Eh? You dislike so many people? What is happening?)
The first and last person who picks from the box makes no difference! You can pick first, you can pick last, but the chance of getting a good priority is the same!
Let me clear some misconceptions. We do not label tables 1-40 and assign you to them. We give you numbers from 1-40 and let you assign yourself. (To be precise, we put the numbers in a box and you’ll pick them randomly), Actually, there are some other details, but this is the big picture.
If you suggest that there is a problem, find the solution. What good is telling us what is wrong with our plans when you can’t clearly tell us what you want? Perhaps you don’t want a change? Perhaps you want it to be assigned, based on detailed analysis of everyone’s grades and character? Perhaps you just want to sit with all your friends in a good location and not care about everyone else?
If you are not happy, tell us you are not happy, and tell us WHAT WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY!
Edit: This post was written in a state of anger.

i just honestly do not like the arrangement.
and generally if balloting were to be conducted
as like what i heard from hongjie today
people will draw from the box.
and all are supposed to just rush to grab a piece
there are bound to be smaller sizes people who are definitely unable to outfight the others. thus they are most likely to grab the last few pieces of paper
and i think it's a rather unfair way to change the seating arrangement
as those who are down on their luck lately would most probably get the last few numbers
and they only have a limited choice
they might get the seats they do not wish to
and what if the negotiation fails?
we have to consider everything
and since studies is what most of us supposed care about,
sitting with someone whom you would not wish to communicate or am extremely unhappy about
would definitely affect one's mood to study.
i guess you guys feel that too?
but i'm not really into the objection side.
just as long majority of the class agrees with it, hongjie, you can go ahead with it.
but remember. it's just a seating arrangement.
we don't have to make too much of a fuss about it
nor can we compromise with everyone.
it's just an arrangement.

hi all!
From what i can tell, there have a lot of demands in the changing of seat. That's a good sign. Basically, i think it is a pretty good idea to have some sort of ballot and they can get to choose their seat when their "number" are called. It is new to me and i think it will be affirmed by the rest of the class. However, to make this possible, we must get the class to "get rid" of the items under their table first and have time to that. We can't get anything started without finding a time where all classmates are in class and all their books "flying around".
Next, i dont think having a "F" shape sitting arrangement in class is good. Firstly, i think this makes us look like primary school kids =.="". Moreover, a few of us may need to turn our head 45 degree just to look at the white board. It is not good for body in the long run.
Although we get to plan how we sit, we still need to consult the teacher. We should let the teacher know what we are doing before we start on anything. Plus, we are not sure if everyone wants to change their seat although we received popular demand.
Moral of the Story?
Things that look pretty simple may not be that easy afterall...........

I am afraid my idea won’t work. The demand for the seats in the middle are simply too high. I was naïve.
We have drafted a new sitting arrangement. It is not satisfactory. I fear I have been biased. Hence, I’d like to suggest new methods deciding who shall sit where.
I think we should do a ballot. Students will draw numbers 1-40 from a box. These numbers represent who may choose the seats first (the person who picks 1 will choose first, the person who picks 40 will choose last). However, there will be some conditions. We will divide the seats into three groups (seats for stronger students, seats for weaker students, and seats for everyone else).
It occurred to us that we could also change the positioning of the seats, as most people are adverse to sitting at the back of the class. We could sit in rows of 3 or 4, instead of two. Shu Yee suggested that we could arrange the seats in a F-shape, just like primary school. It’ll make the class feel larger and neater.
We need your opinions! Please post or tag! Thank you.

Ah, I am very glad that Jin Wen has voiced our his opinion. I believe he speaks for all the Dark Guardian members? That only adds more authority and credibility to his posts, so I think the weird face he signed off with is a little… weird.
I think that Jin Wen has a strong argument. His reasons on why the seats should be changed are flawless. It is also very likely that the administration which needs to be done tomorrow will take up all the time. However, the possibility remains open that there’ll be the time. I suggest we adopt a wait-and-see attitude. So long as it happens when convenient during the first week, it is perfectly fine.
I think everyone should have the right to decide where he or she wants to sit. Different people have different preferences, and everyone is responsible for their own choices. However, some seats may be more desired than others, hence arguments may break out. This will undoubtedly lead to a lot of chaos and unhappiness. Since we are 3e1, we have no cause to worry that our class will get too noisy. I feel that we should be given control over where to seat, but Mr Ong shall have full veto powers. Despite the risk involved, I think we should give this idea a shot. I am convinced that the class is responsible enough to decide appropriately.

hi all! i m back again with another new post. Someone had "psycho-ed" mi into writing a new post this evening and i think i need to write something about the sitting arrangements.
The post i doing now may cause some arguments among classmates, so dont be offended by what i say here.
Firstly, I think it is a good idea not to change the seats as there is a lot of admin stuff to do during the first day of school. Changing seats also means that the teacher will be much more busy. Let's wait for a few days or so to settle down before we carry out the plan of changing seats. Changing seats take some time and organising. We hope that the head of function will draw out a plan of who should sit where and discuss with Mr Ong.
There are several reasons why many people want to change place.
1. he/she cannot hear, see, smell, touch, taste the teacher. (just for laughing purposes)
2. he/she thinks he/she cannot attract the teacher attension
3. he/she wants to be alone behind
4. he/she thinks the person beside him/her is boring
5. he/she is not sitting with his/her boy/gilrfriend
6. he/she thinks the person beside him/her is noisy
7. he/she thinks changing place = can score better for exams
8. he/she may escape from the teacher when he/she never do his/her homework
Let's cut those craps and get onto real business. Many of us wanted to have a change in the sitting arrangement and all i want to say is give a chance for the teacher to settle down with his work before we carry out this plan. Let's wait................

ok well de spec course went well wid 5 2nd sergeants which is 40% of de total amt of ppl which is pretty gd compared wid de previous yr wid onli 1 2nd sergeant-.-! but de ncc guys noe de reason 4 dat result...
de 1st 2 days we went 2 de School of Infantry Specialists(SISPEC) which is where de army trains its specialists. when we arrived dere were some admins probs as jw mentioned n 10 out of de 14 cadets landed in 1 platoon n me n steven were stranded in other platoons wid onli 1 other huayi nnc cadet:( well it turned out dat we were de lucky ones as de 10 cadets got a veri garang platoon commander(pc) which thouht dat he was some big **** u noe wad i mean.... every1 hated him
moving on, we attended a number of lectures at SISPEC abt leadership, de organization of de army and de various schs (SISPEC,SAFWOS, etc.) and also lectures on weapons! dat was where de fun was. after de weapon lectures we got 2 actually handle de weapons which was realli cool. we learnt abt de various types of weapons used in de infantry on de 1st day. 1st was de Singapore Assault Rifle of the 21st century(SAR21) which will become de standard issue rifle by 2008. it was developed in sigapore and it is way more better in terms of aiming and portability. it is also more 'user friendly'. de next weapon is de m203 grenade launcher and de Section Automatic Weapon(SAW)
on de second day we learnt abt de infantry support weapons such as Anti Tank Guided Missiles(ATGM), snipers (mini hectar), General Purpose Machine Gun(GPMG) ,Matador n de 84 mm recoiless rifle.ok im getting tired here so i wont elaborate if u want details ask me or any of de specialists
well de accomodation was gd wid thick mattreses n pillows and it was veri clean. de food wasn bad 2 im sure jw was juz bluffing. well i will continue some other tyme im getting reali tired or sum1 else maybe can elaborate on de nxt 2 days of de spec course.
until next tyme ,

22nd june 2006 marks the end of spec course for 14 of our hua yi ncc cadets

However, there are no outstanding cadet from our school T.T
We were proud to say that our school march beta than most of the schools that were present there. We also maintain good discipline there as well. you simply have to go there to see for yourself. I can say that no one was even reprimanded during the 4 days course. (there was some problems in the admin though) 10 of us landed in the same platoon! however, its good as we get to stay together as group whereas others only got 1 friend to accompany. Hehe
The food was not nice at all during the 4days course. My mum could cook something 1000 times better than them. It is good for those who have never gone to an army camp as they will learn and see for themselves how an army camp operate. they will realise how fortunate they are living in a nice home.
We were disappointed not to have any teacher officer from our school during day 3. this is the day when we have our trainfire and IFC(individual field craft). i did not what has happened but i hope we can get a reason for it.
in conclusion,we had learned how to become a better specialist and we knew we have much more to learn in the future during the course.

I have just finished my chemistry homework, ten minutes or so earlier than scheduled. Hence, I’ll have some time to write a post.
I wonder how much homework the rest of you have finished! Am I one of the slower ones, or is it just ordinary? I hope the December holidays will be less packed than this!
The class blog is not being updated often enough. I’d like to urge bloggers to write more. Those of you who do not write for this blog, perhaps you could start? I’m sure everyone has a lot to complain about, right? On a more constructive side, I’d like to see suggestions for anything regarding the class: this blog, class outings, etc.
Speaking of class outings, we will most likely be going bowling or skating. East Coast Park is not very popular, based on what I have heard. (Correct me if I am wrong!). I propose that we go bowling or skating this Saturday afternoon, at 1 o’clock. If there is popular demand, it can always be changed to Friday (or any other day).

eh lihuan had posted the last time
she mentioned the date for the outing(sentosa) has been changed to saturday 17/6
okay regarding this i would like to know how many people can and wants to go. Because it seems mr ong cannot go because he IS overseas and it seems to be a BIG problem for some.
I am asking for the number of people able to go because if there is not enough people, im afraid it is off then. Because it would be stupid if only 5 people turn up and we go there like play sand ==" imagine that....
i alrdy noe that ncc people all not going so anymore others not going or going??
can email me or just tag to inform me so that i be notified and then decide to cancel or to proceed with the trip

okay okay. mentos is here! (:
well. i guess everyone heaved a sigh of relief?
hahax. 50th anniversary is over and it has indeed took much of our time off the holidays
poor little things. lol
okay back to real business
well the other day
hongjie shuyee ronald adeline constance and i attended the meeting.
we decided that we are going to have an outing on the 17th of june.
apparently i guess many would not turn up.
it's a saturday for your information.
and i think many are rushing for their projects and homework and stuff related to school.
but if you guys find sentosa a little too out of place, we can always negotiate.
but can i request no bbq? >.<
i'm turning fat lol
but if you guys want it, i don't mind =)
too much homework = no play lolx.
so mr ong you can't blame us if the plan fails (:(:
i think george is also kinda busy with the geog stuff and hongjie is already very annoyed with too much planning.
so if you guys have any inquiries you can come and bother me lol
although i might be busy at times too hahax
adding on, we discussed about the end year trip
we were thinking of chalet at downtown east
costa sands.
and...erm oh yea.
they voted for a 3 days 2 nights one
though i wanted a 2 days 1 night lol
i wasn't very into the chalet now so sorry about that
but i'll tag along with anything =) hehex
3 days 2 nights
1st day will be at escape
but we're worried about the price
and we hope that if many were to turn up, there would be a package discount or whatever
then later in the night would be bbq. and the next day yet to plan
yupp. it's around there.
but most likely to slack non stop
but after what mr ong had said
i guess there aren't much days left for the chalet.
we wanted it to be on 11-13
because there are 2 person's birthday which fall on those days
yupp.
and as for the links
mr ong. i do not know their links so how do i link them?
lastly end off with
HAPPY BURFDAE ALINA!hahax =)

thx george!
(haven reach 100 la)
i personally think tt there muz be more reasons why wei cheng cant go to sentosa.
As their parents, i think they care for the safety of their children.
There has been a lot of cases of teenagers drowning in the siloso beach.
I think they do not want their children to be the next victim.
He was allowed to go for the BBQ, remember?
Secondly, we( Dark Guardian members) felt it was a bit too far to just go to sentosa to slack. We might as well slack at home. Two of our members are going overseas and i felt there is nth we 3 can do thr.

Hi guys
Post here again (so annoying right?)
I beg you to please be patient with me a while and see what i have typed.
For those who do not know yet the class outing will be a trip to Sentosa and not a BBQ.
The trip to sentosa is simply to slack and not a nightstay we should all be dismissed by sunset time and be able to reach home before 8 i think. (Hopefully peacefully and in One piece.)
I (also Mr Ong and the class committee) hope everyone can attend this so called outing. The committee is currently planning for the End of Year Chalet so there will be more activites coming up. Class tee on the way left the colour bah... maybe i will ask lihuan post it on the blog so that every body can give comments about it.
I also hope Mr Ong can give some of our more troubled classmates a hand by talking to the parents who prevent their child to go for outings (eg: weicheng) and allow them to join us for it.
The dates due to my blunder there still seems to be somemore problems so i will post again WITH the date informing you all should be during the week though so please finish everything by then to be free to go.
From here i wish everybody a happy holidays, to kevin congrats to completing 3rd job, early congrats to jinwen lvl 100.
Yours faithfully

Woah! That was a long and interesting post! More of such posts would certainly be a delight! Unfortunately, I shall not be making such a post for quite some time, as I have nothing to write about.
Ah, the teenage fever. I presume that it is compulsory for the selected few? Muhahahaha. I can barely wait to see my fellow classmates perform! It’ll be a thing to remember.
Studies! The one thing I want to devote more time to! Does anyone have any books to recommend? The category does not matter; after all, I am seeking to widen my scope.
Speaking of appointments, may I arrange one with you, Mr Ong? It is not regarding the home work. Rather, I’d like some extra classes for Mathematics Competitions and stuff which are not in the syllabus (such as game theory). Yeah, just for leisure. I know I’m crazy
