Hi all,
Since there has been no 1 posting on the blog for a long time, I know its getting boring in here...everyday seeing the same post ''physic test next wed'' really stress you out.
Hmm, as all of you should know( if u dun u can bang ur head against the wall), it is teacher's day this friday!! Yay!! So happy =) Not because there will be no lesson(not very sure) due to the concert but for the very fact that we get to appreciate our teacher esp Mr.Ong our dearest form teacher. He has been a great teacher who not only teaches us for the sake of teaching, but helps us in our character development and personal lives. He is more of a friend than a teacher to me. Most teachers just teach and teach, never go out with thier pupils and have fun together. To me, he is the best teacher ever and I know we will continue to have fun together.
As for the rehersal today, i have seen it and it was quite good...lol. The Malay band was hilarous( forget thier name le). I anticipate a good teacher's day this coming friday and I hope it will be the best one yet =).
Finally, An Advanced Happy Teacher's day to all the teachers out there. ^^

Fret not Wei Jie, I am aware that I am not the best in anything. In terms of leadership, the councilors are obviously better. In terms of discipline, the NCC men are definitely better. In terms of academic results, there were 7 greater than I during the mid-year examinations. In terms of speech, Clarence, Ronald and Reuben are better. Non-sequitur - it does not follow.
I am aware of more than what Jin Wen and Wei Jie has revealed here. I am infuriated, for fairness has not been upheld. Kevin is a very disciplined and talented person. He conducts himself appropriately everywhere he goes, regardless of the situation. Not to mention, his results are the best in the school, clearly showing that he is hardworking and intelligent. Someone who occasionally behaves himself in a unrestrained manner, demonstrates poor discipline, and has terrible results got in instead of Kevin.

to avoid confusion and chaos in this class, i m here to explain what have happened and what weijie is trying to say here.
basically, it is nothing to do with this class. it is other things in school which we dont really like.
u see, we have this course. it is a course that is for those top talented elites in our cca. it is something that not everyone can go (including me). however, when the list of selected people was out, we were shocked to see that kevin was not in the list. erm.... wad went wrong? i do not know why. i was dissapointed as those who are actually very good did not have a chance to prove themselves they can do it. (definitely not me)
it was even shocking when my counterpart told me that he was striked off the list and replaced by one of the counterpart. a second sergeant. it was kinda sad. although mi n kevin had quarrels before, i think he should not be treated this way. his academics is also good and he had no problems in any subjects or handing in hmwk. why was he not in? why was he striked off and replaced?

Unfair? Bias? One should not judge a book by its cover and of course, a person from its appearance.
E.g.1 : Student A is the chairman of a particular class. As we all know, the chairman is the head of the class therefore, he or she will be the one with the highest authority. Does that mean that the chairman is the best in the class, having the best abilities? The answer is definitely a NO! (I'm not refering to you, hongjie)
E.g.2 : Those who play MS will know that MrYaNdAo is the top mapler in msea having the highest level. Does that mean that he can deal the highest damage and is the most "pro" in msea. The answer is also a NO!
We should not decide on a person's abilities by considering only his appearance, popularity and position. A person with the best abilities does not neccessary need to show off to others.
All of you may not understand what i'm talking about. NVM!

3e1 women and 3e1 men! I have written many blog entries, and have taken many positions on many issues. But today is something very special for me: it is special because today I fight for classmates who work hard every day and who have therefore learned from their own experiences what education is, and what its accomplishment means for productive students.
Verily, Cheng Hwee’s three misconceptions are aptly stated! Being in 3e1 simply means we study triple science. That is all a layman can tell when one claims “I am from 3e1”. We were not sent to this class because we need no guidance! We were not sent to this class because we know everything! We were not sent to this class because we were the best of the level!
However, after coming to this class, we have proved to be generally better than the other class in terms of discipline and results, and perhaps generally more willing to learn. My request is that we be given more attention, more guidance, more criticism, more feedback, more work, and taught more knowledge. Surely it is not too much to ask for these?
When feedback is given to us, we must evaluate it carefully, and decide whether it is true or false, and to what extent. We can not blindly except or reject feedback. We must learn whatever truth is present in the feedback, and improve ourselves. We must also ascertain when the feedback has gone wrong, so that we may identify how teachers’ thinking may go wrong, and hence we can clarify misconceptions without unnecessary delay.
I wish to ask you five questions that you, 3e1, will answer for our opponents and teachers to hear, who read our blog or receive word about it. Are you willing?
It is maintained that the 3e1 people have lost faith in doing home work.
I ask you: Are you resolved to do the home work given, through thick and thin to victory, and are you willing to accept the heaviest studying burdens?
Second, it is said that the 3e1 is tired of studying.
I ask you: Are you ready to follow the teachers as the phalanx of our class, to study with wild determination through all the turns of fate until victory is ours?
Third, it is said that we are not willing to work hard.
I ask you: Do you want to take an unbreakable oath that you will study firmly and unshakably and that you will give everything which is needed to achieve victory?
Fourth, outsiders disrupt our class.
I ask you: Do you approve, if necessary, the most radical measures against a small group of troublemakers who enter our class and riot in the corridors, hindering the learning/teaching effort?
Fifth and lastly, I ask you: Do you agree that above all in this learning process, the same rights and duties should apply to all, that the class should bear the heavy burdens of the studying together, and that the burdens should be shared equally between high and low and weak and strong?
We will fill our hearts with passion for knowledge, with the ever-burning fire, that blazes during the great struggles of the class and the school. Never during this struggle will we fall prey to the false and hypocritical notions that have brought the class so much misfortune over its history.

Instead of fighting to be at the top of position, why not we help each other, and get everyone of us to the top together? This way, stress level will decrease and the atmosphere in our class will allow us to express ourselves more freely.
Scheming and plotting to kick one away and give oneself an edge higher against the other adversaries within the class will result in a backfire for one instead. Put it simply: When you hurt others, you hurt yourself in times to come. In the end, it becomes a lose-lose situation.
If we are to compromise and help each other in our weak areas, there is possibility that all of us will make a mark in the 'O' levels and be all-rounders, instead of 2 extreme ends: The people who manage to go to the JCs and Poly vs The people who go to ITE.
I understand that being top in class is everyone's desire in our class. However, the position did not state that it is meant for the One, the Almighty number 1. There is no limit to the number of people taking the position of the top. Also, one is not able to stay on top forever as there will always be someone better than one.
I would like to respond to JW's post about our class too.
We should simmer down our ego, reduce our cravings and accept teachers' comments from a positive point of view, rather than accumulating hatred and jealousy. Take their comments into consideration. Question ourselves. Are we being too complacent? Where have we gone wrong in the doctrine? How can we rectify the problem? The comments like teachers telling us that other classes are doing better than us are reminders only.
I understand that teachers have high expectation of our class, but we are humans after all! There are some misconceptions that I would also like to point out:
-Being in 3e1 means that we know "everything" under the sun.
-Being in 3e1 means that we are the "cream of the level".
-Being in 3e1 means that we do not need the teachers guidance in learning.
-Being part of Sg's ed sys means that we must abide the "TLLM" in learning "law by law".
Why did I point the acronym out? I feel that it works better for the elites than average students like us. Also, some have also used it as an evasion from doing extra teaching. In other words, misconceptualising and using loopholes within the scheme.

It is not a matter of natural intelligence. It is a matter of the ability to score well. Although we are far from the best in Singapore, we are arguably the best in Hua Yi.
There are two flaws with the teachers’ comparisons with the other class. First is the flaw that they do more home work than us. My most of my old classmates in 2e2 copied home work from their peers, and this is indistinguishable from genuine effort (until the examination results came out). Secondly, just because we are occasionally not as good as the others, it does not mean that we are generally not as good. The teachers’ comparisons are selective and do not show the full picture. The level rankings for the mid-year are objective, and the message is clear.
We are what we believe, and we must fight for it. Anything which is not pragmatic is a waste of time and simply not worth adopting. It is not about pride. Rather, it is about fighting for what will do us the most good.

it's been a long time since i post on the class blog.
after reading Mr.Ong's post, i suddenly realise that there is some kind of misunderstanding about teachers and our class.
3E1: The outrival and outstanding?
lately, i noticed that we were always being compared with other classes. i do not know why.
it is kind of sad to say that we are being seen as the "outrival" or in other word, outclass.
maybe it is time to clear this misconception. i think that there is a negative misconception that being in 3E1 means one is the best. teachers also have similar misconception as well. i strongly feel that if everyone in 3e1 wants to be the best, stop thinking that 3E1 is best. we are nothing compared to the whole of Singapore. i hate teachers coming to our class and says that other classes are better than us in test, homework...etc. some people need to change themselves and stop saying about natural intelligence.

When I say “good teacher” and “good student” I mean that they are good in a particular area and willing to teach/learn. Since it takes two hands to clap, the teacher must be willing to teach, and the student willing to learn. Informal surveys, casual observations and feedback from teachers are that the end classes are generally not as willing to learn as the front classes. It follows that better (good-er) students should have better teachers. This will ensure that our resources are fully utilized. Why do you want to have a farm in a desert when you can have do it on fertile land?

Regarding this, I am going to start a debate.
Should the back classes have better teachers than those of the classes up front?

Hi all,
I know everyone is anticipating a post from me since Mr.Ong instructed me to do so(like robot like that lol). Well so here i am. Since this is my 1st time posting, I do hope all of u will guide me along. Any similarities to real life people are just coincidental. How to distress u say? Hmm..tough question..this is stressful...
Uh no i am feeling stress..wad to do?? Do not fret, for i will save all of u stressful ppl out there.
There are several ways to distress..i will start with the more common 1 and it will get more lame gradually(for the purpose of distressing u) as some people need different methods to get distress.
1. Do the things u like to do
E.g. Play the piano, watch tv, play the computer or even..man u gonna like it....watch Chio Bu in Sentosa haha(Jw now i know why u not so stress lol)
2. Do the things u don't like to do
Hmm..why do the things u don't like to do? Well it is the same method as psychoing ppl. When u do the things u don't like to do..u will usually forget the things around u and spent more effort doing it as it is something u are probably not familiar with. It might sound weird but as i say..it works for some people.
3.Yes...the traditional method...message ur head..eyes..shoulders...arms..legs...(I know wad u are thinking about now..dirty minded ppl). It helps to circulate ur blood...but i think i doesn't work for me lol..Sorry Mr.Ong...no hard feelings
4. Ok this one works for me like magic..and i hope it does to you! Watch Spongbob Squarepants hahahahah..5.30 pm kids central..see u there and make sure u are not holding on to any popcorn by now..wahhahahaha...
5. Ok last but not least(i scare later write too much), share lame jokes with other people.(Apparently it doesnt work for Jia Sheng..someone out there plz help him..)
E.g One fine day, a wolf spotted a rabbit not far away. The rabbit, having supersonic ears, heard the wolf approaching. The wolf gave chase until it reached the Mrt station. Juz when he managed to catch the rabbit, he released it. Why??
