Hi! It's been a long time since I've posted here.
To start off with my post, I would like to thank George & SR(3e3) for his support in some trivial issues...Well, it's been a tough time these few days.
Many months have past and we're now moving on to the Final Year Examinations. Why's the timetable not distributed yet? The anticipation's killing me!!!
Why's the video not working? I've tried my Mozilla & Internet Explorer but it still can't load. Is it the Kbox video? If any of you can't see it from here, you can go to this URL to watch ^_^
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nURBH9Xztj0Note: Update your Shockwave Plugin for IE's ActiveX to upgrade to Adobe (Formally Macromedia/Shockwave) Player 9 for best performance.
Don't blame the video for being too blur, it's the voice that we should pay more attention to.
Time has past so fast and I would like to do some credits before the exams:I would like to thank Mr Ong for his guidance in Maths/A Maths, Mrs Wee for her exciting & brainstorming discussion sessions in Biology, Miss Chin for her encouragement & support in my MT, Miss Adlin for her essential assistance in English/Social Studies, Mdm Yeo for her funny jokes and creativity in her Physics lessons, Miss Chiang for her enlightening Chemistry lessons: The PSCMAZITLHCMSGP (remember it well ^^), and finally, Miss Goh! For her hardwork in printing notes to help us in easy revision in our Geography.
I'm quite interested in the Chalet, but not very sure whether it will coincide with the Computer course, so if those are not able to go, are they required to pay?
Recently, I've watched the Broadway Beng at the DBS Arts Centre. It's a stand-up comedy with musicals and GeTai-faves (the make-shift stage set-ups in HDB estates that have singers being paid per song sung on stage to commemorate the Exclusive 2x 7th Month Hungry Ghost Festival this year). This is Sebestian Tan's 2nd round and it's a success! It was one of the best that I've watched of Arts in Singapore. However, Broadway Beng is a local production and it aims to attract local audience because the show is mostly in Hokkien with minority of English (Only in Miss Saigon in 8 mins, opening performance, singing of one of Michael Jackson's sentimental songs "Band") Code-switching is very fast and he's able to be like a typical "Beng" and after a while, becomes a eloquent English native speaker. This is what I'm very impressed about him. The Hokkien parts of the show are entertaining and informative. At the start, he introduced Hokkien to the masses. The words that I've remembered very clearly are "Tiong Goon" which stands for "General"; "Pak Pok" which means "Applause". The best part of the show is when he translated the Underworld Leaders' all-time favourite song, "Ai Pia Cai Aeh Ea" the chorus whereby he translated into "70% from man, 30% from Heaven. In life must strive, must strive!" Also, He translated the National Day's popular song, "Stand Up For Singapore" into "Ka Kee Hor Singapore", with an upsized flag as backdrop. The part which fascinated me the most is when he re-enacts the activities of KTV lounges:
He began with saying that after days of work, it's time to "Tao Liang" as in chillout, the weather's so hot and explains to the point of saying that Sg's a "Pu Zhua Country" which means "Heaty Country". He explains what the people in KTV lounges do, using a gear-concept of describing.
Intro: Mamasan (40 & abv) comes into dark room and talks to the customer. Brings in the ladies with number tags.
1st Gear: The customer will then make his choices, then call upon numbers (Today, I feel really unlucky, I'll take no 4! [Anticipate] No. 8! Bring them on!)
2nd Gear: They'll play finger-guessing games or (for example: Ji Go Pak! Ji Go Pak!).
3rd Gear: The customer will be fed with peanuts and drink XO.
4th Gear: The customer will smell perfume, do some stretches and exercise.
5th Gear: Press accelerator and chiong!!!!!
This should give a rough idea about it. ^-^To add on to this topic, the latest mrbrown show! Yes! The 15th September (Friday) Wonders Of Singapore 3: Singapore Nightlife Tour
